Our Story

HOW IT BEGAN – AN INVESTMENT IN US

Our little family started RISE in landlocked Nampa, Idaho. Our first foray into SUP Boarding came from a desire to spend more time outdoors and quickly turned into a family obsession.

Realizing we had become a bit stale in our social life and our focus on family time, we bought our first set of SUP boards on a whim. We looked at the purchase as an ‘investment’ in fun. It was a commitment to get out and create fun experiences. We knew if we spent (what we thought was) a lot of money, we would feel obligated to get out and use them.

The theory worked. We loved having a reason to ‘hit the lake’ (or pond) even if it was just a quick evening stop after work. It got us out more, spending quality time together, doing something worthwhile as a family. It also created great opportunities to be more social, inviting friends and their families for a night out.

It’s funny to look back and remember how hard it was to buy those first boards. At the time it seemed like so much money, but after our first trip on the water, it was obviously well worth the “investment”!

If I could go back, the only thing I would do different is buy them sooner.

3 YEAR OLD CAMERAMAN

The picture above was taken by our crazy wild 3 year old, the day we started RISE. In the picture, up on a shelf in the background, you can see the first paddle boards we purchased. We loved the adventures those clunky blue SUP boards took us on but they were heavy and flimsy, awkward to carry, required a special rack for our car and too much storage space in our garage. After a few trips out, we made a ‘wish list’ of features we would need in our next set to make for a better all-around experience.

The RISE product is that ‘wish list’ package, the best package we could dream up.

We invite you to join the RISE family and hit the lake with yours! Make an investment in fun that will yield countless returns. Get out, rise up.

WHAT’S IN A NAME

The RISE can take on different meanings for different people. Could be spiritual or motivational or just remind someone of the sunrise. For us, it reminds us to rise up from the mundane day to day grind that can begin to drudge the life out of you.

The logo serves as a constant reminder to move forward, reach higher, get out and rise up.

THE RISE MISSION:

Create an excuse to get out and rise up.

COMMIT | GET OUT | RISE UP | (YOU’LL THANK YOURSELF LATER)

Unfortunately, too many of us waste our days creating excuses that keep us from enjoying all the beauty there is to behold in this life. Rise is the opposite excuse, the excuse that encourages you to get out and enjoy the beauty of the earth. #RiseUp
